Divisional Passport and Visa Office Dhaka: To facilitate the travel of Bangladeshi citizens abroad, the Department of Immigration and Passports started its journey as a Directorate in 1962 with a Regional Office in Dhaka and Regional Passport Offices in Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, Rajshahi and Khulna. After the Liberation War, in 1973, the Department of Immigration and Passports was established as a separate department.

After receiving this email, if you have not submitted your old US passport with your passport renewal application, please submit your old US passport to the Simon Global Limited office for cancellation immediately. If the embassy cancels your old passport, you can collect the canceled old passport and the new passport from the Simon Global Limited office within 1-2 days. Do not forget to bring your receipt with you. Applicants are required to collect their passport from any of the three Simon Global Limited outlets in Bangladesh, which are – Dhaka, Chittagong or Sylhet.

At the time of collection, guardians should plan to bring their photo ID (such as passport, driving license, or national identity card) and the signed receipt obtained at the interview. However, to authorize another adult, even a spouse, to collect a passport on your behalf, you will need to fill out an authorization form (available on Simon Global Limited and the Embassy website). That person must bring the form, their identity card and the signed passport receipt with them to Simon Global Limited.
The service/courier fee for collecting documents at the Dhaka branch will remain unchanged (Tk 400 plus 15% VAT).Simon Global Limited will charge a fee of Tk 600 plus 15% VAT for collection from the Chittagong or Sylhet branches.There is no provision for collecting passports at the Embassy except in emergencies. As always, a guardian can collect a passport for their child without additional authorization – the minor does not need to come in person.

This is to inform you that the jurisdiction of the Divisional Passport and Visa Office, Agargaon and the Passport Office, Dhaka Cantonment has been reallocated. The jurisdiction of Agargaon Divisional Passport and Visa Office includes Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Mirpur, Kafrul, Rupnagar, Gulshan, Banani, Shahbagh, Dhanmondi, Kalabagan, Ramna, Tejgaon, Tejgaon Industrial Area and Dhaka Cantonment (for citizens under the jurisdiction of Dhaka Cantonment Police Station) (total 13).
- To avail passport services from Dhaka Cantonment Passport Office, serving and retired military personnel and civilians working under the Ministry of Defence at Dhaka Station should follow the following instructions:A. For military personnel (Officers, JCOs and other ranks) and their families (spouse and children only).
- Military personnel working at Dhaka Cantonment/Station and military personnel working on deputation in Dhaka can apply for passports on the basis of Government Order (GO)/NOC.
- Government Order (GO) is mandatory for military personnel working in other cantonments/stations and military personnel working on deputation outside Dhaka. Therefore, NOC from other stations will not be considered acceptable.
In case of retired military personnel (Officers, JCOs and other ranks) (only for spouses and children).
(1) Resident of Dhaka Cantonment as per present address.
(2) Residents of all DOHS in Dhaka and Jalsiri Housing in Dhaka.
(3) Resident of areas under Dhaka Cantonment Police Station (Manikdi/ Matikata/ Khanpalli/ Mastertech/ Manikdi Namapara/ Samalkot/ ECB Chattar).
(4) For retired personnel, necessary documents should be submitted as proof of retirement.
In case of civilians working in Dhaka Station under the Ministry of Defence (only for spouses and children).
(1) Current address should be under the jurisdiction of any police station in Dhaka city.
(2) Government Order (GO)/NOC is mandatory where applicable.
