US Visa Was Rejected In 40 Seconds

An Indian national has expressed his disappointment after his visa application to travel to the United States was rejected in just 40 seconds. He shared his experience on the social media platform Reddit and highlighted some important information as the reason for the visa rejection.

Indian Man’s US Visa denied in 40 Seconds

Recently, Indian citizens have been facing increasing difficulties in obtaining US visas. According to the country’s media sources, many Indians’ visas are being canceled suddenly. In continuation of this, an Indian recently faced an unexpected experience while applying for a visa. It has been alleged that his application was rejected after being asked three questions in just 40 seconds of the visa interview.

According to information published in the media, an Indian youth applied for a tourist visa at the US Embassy in New Delhi. The youth, who uses the social media platform Reddit, shared his experience and said that the visa officer at the embassy sent him back after asking only three questions.

Why US Visa Was Rejected In 40 Seconds?

An Indian citizen applied for a B1/B2 tourist visa to travel to the United States. The US embassy called him for an interview and asked him 3 simple questions and he answered them correctly. But even then, the embassy rejected his application within just 40 seconds of the interview. This is naturally disappointing for the Indian, who has a respectable job in India and had applied for the visa with a hassle-free and clear travel plan. He also expressed his disappointment on the social media platform Reddit.

While there is a chance to reapply if you can show strong family or career ties in India, success is unlikely without a significant change in circumstances. The big challenge facing the young man now is to provide evidence of a new job, sufficient bank balance, or family ties. According to US embassy sources, if a visa is denied once, if there is no significant change in the information, subsequent applications are likely to receive the same response.

Nearly 5,000 Student Visas Cancelled in the US:

The US has cancelled the visas of 327 foreign students last month for ‘agitation’ on college or university campuses in the US. Veteran Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said that 50 percent of that list are Indians. The Trump government has labeled all those students as ‘anti-nationals’.

Several Indian media outlets have reported that the country wants to hold talks with the Trump administration very soon to decide on the students. Congress leader Ramesh has pointed his finger at the Modi government in this regard. He also raised the question of whether External Affairs Minister Jaishankar will discuss the issue with US Secretary of State Mark Rubio.

Posting the press release of the ‘American Immigration Lawyers Association’ on the X handle, Ramesh wrote, ‘The reasons for the visa cancellation are vague and opaque. Therefore, this is a cause for concern and apprehension for Indians.’ Not just the visa cancellation.

The Trump administration has labeled the 327 students as “traitors.” As a result, they will never be able to visit America again. Many of the students whose visas have been revoked have spoken out in support of Palestinian rights. They have also spoken out against supporting Israel in its occupation of Gaza.

Conclusion

One of the most common reasons for a US visa rejection is the applicant’s failure to demonstrate strong ties to the country. Such ties can include stable employment, property, or ties to family members. Although the applicant was working a respectable job, his lack of a record of foreign travel and his girlfriend’s presence in the US put him at risk.

Experts advise that visa applicants try to build their own foreign travel history and be careful when providing any personal or personal relationship information related to travel to the US. Because sometimes even a little misinformation can have big consequences.
